The Dickies is a punk rock band from the San Fernando Valley, outside Los Angeles, that was formed in 1977. With a unique sound that employs memorable melodies, rich harmonies and satirical lyrics, The Dickies have been called pioneers of the pop punk style. The group released its debut album, The Incredible Shrinking Dickies, in 1979 and although their LP release schedule has been sporadic since then, the band has maintained a fairly active performance regime to make up for it.
