Vadim Repin is a violinist from Western Siberia whose foray into the limelight began when he became the youngest competitor to win the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Brussels at the age of 17. Since then, Repin has been sought out by some of the world's most celebrated conductors, orchestras and ensembles and has given several concerts at Carnegie Hall and The BBC Proms. On top of his mastery of the standard classical violin repertoire, Repin tends to focus his performing repertoire on the great violin works of the French and Russian masters, and his recordings are considered by many to be milestones of contemporary classical violin performances.
