A good deal of modern music tends to be fairly polarizing; people either love or hate bands. However, this sentiment doesn't hold true for Los Angeles-based alternative rock troupe The 88. Formed in 2003, the group makes a fairly agreeable style of music that is easy to listen to. With jangly guitars, forthright vocals and rhythmically propulsive drumming, The 88's sound is a clear reflection of the indie rock music scene during the formative years of the aughts and is hard to dislike. While the group might be overlooked for having a slightly "regular" sound, it shouldn't detract individuals from giving the group an honest listen and discovering the subtle pleasures in the band's music.
