Fronted by husband-wife duo Clare and Olivier Manchon, Clare and the Reasons creates delicate indie pop that showcases Clare's vocals with subtle backing instrumentals. The Reasons, the three piece band behind Clare, bring the group's music into indie folk and neoclassical territory, utilizing violins, horns, cellos and a bass drum; however, Clare's clear voice, reminiscent of French pop songstresses of a bygone era, always cuts through the instrumentals to the forefront of each song. Since forming in 2005, the Brooklyn-based group has toured worldwide and landed songs in a few French films.
