Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Jeff Beam claims to have decided to become a musician when he realized as a child that he couldn't dance and figured if he was the one making the music he wouldn't have to dance. The result of this attitude has been a rather large discography for his young age, including solo work and collaborations. Beam's music generally can be categorized as dreamy psychedlia, full of complex melodic structures and touched by electronic and experimental flourishes, and has drawn in a fairly diverse group of listeners.
