Known primarily as a Playboy model and actress, Sasha Grey has nearly always tried to recorded music in her spare time. Since 2007, she has devoted much of her time to aTelecine, a quartet she formed with noted musician Pablo St. Francis. Shortly after forming, the group was signed to Pendu Sound and began producing the dark ambient music that is so characteristic of that label. Creating sonic compositions full of cut and paste collages of haunting samples and industrial leanings, the Los Angeles-based group doesn't create easy listening music, by any account; instead its sound requires a patient listener with an attuned ear for the the more experimental side of electronic music.
