Based out of Des Moines, Iowa, Cirrus Minor plays a brand of jam rock that is heavy on funk and psychedelic influences. The six-piece band's reliance on improvisation and long, drawn-out grooves makes it a perfect fit for jam band fans looking for a good live act to check out. However, the group's injection of stranger, more eclectic elements gives it a bit of a broader appeal as well. Cirrus Minor's songs sometimes recall the strange, skewered funk rock of Primus, while other times channeling the trippy psychedelia of vintage Pink Floyd.
