Jay Tripwire is a house and downtempo DJ from Vancouver. His music is typically classified as deep house, due in large part to Tripwire's inclusion of hints of funk, jazz and soul. It's not uncommon in his songs to hear a saxophone solo pop up amongst the layers of synthesizers and steady house pulses. His main inspiration can be linked back to the electronic sounds coming out of the United States in the 1980s and 1990s, specifically from cities such as Detroit, Chicago and New York. Tripwire's successful underground career has afforded him the opportunity to spin in some of the world's biggest clubs, including Fabric and the Mercury Lounge.
