Lir was an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 1993. The original lineup consisted of Ronan O'Snodaigh on vocals and percussion, Colm Quearney on guitar, Rob Malone on bass, and Rossa O'Snodaigh on drums. Lir's music blended elements of rock, folk, and traditional Irish music. In 1994, Lir released their debut album, "Magico Magico!", which was well-received by critics and garnered the attention of U2's Bono. Bono invited the band to join U2 on their "Zoo TV" tour, which helped to raise Lir's profile both in Ireland and internationally. In 1996, Lir released their second album, "Nest," which featured a more mature and polished sound. The album was produced by Steve Osborne, who had previously worked with bands such as U2 and Placebo. Despite the critical success of "Nest," the album did not sell well, and Lir disbanded soon after its release
