Black Mastiff, hailing from Edmonton, is a band that thrives on the foundation of lifelong friendships and the pursuit of fun. This ethos permeates both their energetic live performances and their recorded music. In their third full-length album, Loser Delusions, released in Fall 2019, the band made it a priority to stay united and navigate the challenges they faced. Over the four-year period since their acclaimed album Music Machine, the trio underwent a shift in their perception of how a band operates. Drawing upon their diverse skill sets and entrepreneurial spirits, they established their own label, Grand Hand, in collaboration with fellow touring companions Chron Goblin. When drummer Allan relocated to Vancouver, they embraced the opportunity to explore the creative potential that distance could bring to their music. The outcome is a determined continuation of their signature sound, while also venturing into new sonic territories. Black Mastiff's resilience and artistic evolution shine through in their latest work.
