Ladánybene 27 is the first significant reggae band of Hungary. It was formed in 1985 by a couple friends from the Angyalföld neighborhood of Budapest. After they won a national talent scout competition, they became so enthusiastic and focused on their music that the band quickly rose to fame. In 1995, members visited Jamaica, in order to fully experience and engfulf themselves in the roots of reggae. Their authenticity tactic worked, and the band continued to flourish.
