Garland Jeffreys is a rock n' roll, reggae and blues singer/songwriter from New York who began his career by becoming a key player in the burgeoning liberal art movements of his home city in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In addition to releasing several studio albums with an unique experimental flavor combined with very heartfelt social and political messages, Jeffreys is also well-known as a collaborator with many of the artists to come out of the Brooklyn art scene. Although Garland Jeffreys never truly caught on with mainstream audiences, his body of work speaks volumes towards the artist's talent and contributions to the evolution of the Brooklyn music and art scene over the last several decades.
