Joan Manuel Serrat is a Spanish pop singer who combines the rock and roll stylings of The Beatles with Italian pop hits. He debuted his first album, titled Ara que tinc vint anys, in 1967 and his evocative music was quickly banned in Spain. However, the power of his pop music shined through the censorship and he bagged first place at the Rio de Janeiro World Music Festival the very next year. Since then he has been building a massive catalog of records in both in both Spanish and Catalan.
