Nipsey Hussle was a Los Angeles-based rapper whose distinctive style was a byproduct of the influences he wore on his sleeve: West Coast gangsta rap luminaries like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Snoop Dog and Easy-E. A member of the Rolling Sixty Crips, a rap collective in Los Angeles's South Central neighborhood, Nipsey Hussle distinguished himself with an adept lyrical style and a manic verbal flow. Nipsey Hussle released his debut album, Raw, in 2012 and the LP helped introduce hip-hop fans to a rapper who wasn't afraid to delve into the past for musical inspiration. Tragically, Nispey Hussle was shot and killed at his clothing store in Los Angeles in 2019.
