Silk is a contemporary R&B group that emerged out of Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. After releasing its debut album Lose Control, in 1992, the band immediately garnered critical and commercial acclaim, particularly for the hit singles "Happy Days" and "Freak Me." Though the band dropped more hits throughout the 1990s, including "Don't Rush" and "If You," the band lost much of its mainstream appeal in the 2000s with the departure of lead singer Gary "Lil G" Jenkins. Silk continued on as a quartet and released its fifth studio album Silktime, in 2003. The band eventually reunited with Jenkins in 2007, before releasing the appropriately titled The Reunion, in 2012.
