A solo offshoot project of his former band, Wire Daisies, Ol Beach creates slickly-produced pop rock under his Yellow Wire moniker. Though he was born in England, Beach spent most of his youth in Switzerland, where his songwriting talents began to blossom at a young age. As he was the chief songwriter for Wire Daisies, the shift to Yellow Wire has been a smooth transition, despite the name and lineup changes. Beach writes in the emotionally-tinged singer/songwriter vein, though on record his songs are beefed up with glossy production and huge, radio-ready hooks that call to mind some like-minded bands such as Snow Patrol and Keane.
