Formed while all of its band members were still in high school in 2006, The Arcadian Kicks played a Battle of the Bands show and caught the attention of its judge Jon Brookes, The Charlatons drummer, who immediately offered to manage the group. While the five-piece might maintain the physical style and aesthetic of a typical angsty teenage band, its music is actually far more impressive than that. With powerful vocals, growly guitars and saxophone solos, The Arcadian Kicks provides a unique take on modern indie rock with a pop flair. After catching the attention of BBC Radio, the Birmingham band received more widespread attention throughout the UK and was set to only grow in prominence, until the band decided to split up in 2012.
