By interjecting elements of sparse atmospheric arrangements into typical rock songs, the Denver, Colorado-based group Hindershot has managed to pioneer a new style of music that's equal parts cerebral headphone music and carefree, guitar-centric radio pop. The band received a healthy dose of laudation in 2011, after playing an impressive number of shows and winning over audiences with performances that highlights each band member's instrumental prowess. Though the young group is still finding its footing and carving out its own unique niche in the music scene, with more time and practice spent honing its approach to music composition, Hindershot will no doubt grow into a band that's well known from coast to coast.
