While Colorado might not be a state known for its hip-hop, eight-piece collective Fresh Breath Committee has sought to change that since forming in 2008. The Denver-based group believes that true hip-hop is dying out as the genre's elite continue to rely on autotune, cliche pop hooks and overused samples. FBC utilizes contemplative wordplay, soulful vocals and creative production in an attempt to combat the mundane state of its beloved genre. Though the group is only well-known in its home state, with more widespread touring, Fresh Breath Committee will likely win over audiences that also believe hip-hop needs a revival.
