Leslie Cheung Kwok-Wing (Traditional Chinese:張國榮), was a musician and actor from Hong Kong. Considered "one of the founding fathers of Cantopop," Cheung helped build this unique style by blending cutting-edge music styles with a diverse understanding of music history. He was also fairly famous long an illustrious career as an actor. In a 1997 concert, Cheung openly acknowledge Daffy Tong Hok-Tak (Traditional Chinese:唐鶴德) as his partner, earning the respect of the Chinese LGBT community. Cheung committed suicide on April 1, 2003 after struggling with depression for a long time.
