Northern Italy's music ensemble, Fiamma Fumana has been in the world music scene since they formed in 1999. Their name, Italian for "flame fog" or "fire mist," is a shadow of their mixture of the two unlikely genres of Italian folk and electronica. Originally a three piece band, the group added two members while recording their 2001 sophomore album, Home. Fiamma Fumana's third album, Onda, which translates as "Wave," is layered with traditional folky accordion and electronic beats, emanating fluid, dance worthy music with a rugged, ethnic edge.
