Neil Halstead

Neil Halstead is a critically acclaimed songwriter as well as a founding member of the shoegaze band Slowdive and dream pop outfit Mojave 3. The fusion of traditional and modern British folk sounds that flavored his work in Slowdive and Mojave3 are at the forefront of his solo material. Released in 2002, his debut album Sleeping On Roads, offered flourishes of American folk elements that walked the border between indie rock and alternative country music. Halstead continued to blend the new and old twang of both American and English folk music on his follow-up releases, Oh! Mighty Engine from 2008 and Palindrome Hunches of 2012.
