The Bogota, Colombia outfit V for Volume has established a successful career in its home country thanks to its radio-friendly mix of alternative rock and pop. Formerly singing for a metal band, the five-piece recruited lead singer Maria Jose Camargo to lend her slick pipes to its music. The experiment was a success, as Camargo's presence helped establish V for Volume's identity as purveyors of glossy and accessible rock/pop songs full of catchy melodies and guitar-driven hooks. The band has recently started to find a much larger following outside of Colombia and was chosen to perform at South by Southwest in 2012.
