Alongside Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Joey Bishop, Dean Martin was a member of the legendary "Rat Pack" of the 1960s. A jazz and pop singer, Martin was a hugely popular crooner known for delivering the most well-known renditions of songs such as "Ain't That a Kick In the Head" and "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You." Originally intending to become a boxer, he eventually turned his sights toward entertainment, tweaking the name "Dino Martini," which he'd used while serving as a croupier at an illegal casino in Ohio. In the 1950s, Martin headed to Hollywood, where he found acting work in film and television, including comedic roles alongside Jerry Lewis. He'd soon find his biggest success as a singer, however. Throughout the 1960s, Martin, Sinatra and the rest of The Rat Pack ruled the vocal and jazz pop scenes, specifically on the glamorous Las Vegas Strip. In the following decades, he maintained a hugely successful singing career in addition to his continued film and television work. Martin died of lung cancer in 1995 at the age of 78.
