Advanced Chemistry is a German hip-hop group from Heidelberg. It was founded in 1987 and consisted in the beginning of five members of which all hold the German citizenship but are of an Italian, Ghanian and Haitian descent. With their anti-racist and social-critical lyrics they formed a counterpart to the more light-hearted and playful German hip-hop group Die Fantastischen Vier that also became famous by that time. Also Advanced Chemistry never gained the huge attention of the public that Die Fantastischen Vier attracted in the 1990s, they had a big influence on the German rap scene.
