Anita Wardell is an English jazz singer who is probably best known for her impressive scat singinging abilities. Born in Surry, England and raised in Australia, Wardell developed her vocal improvisation technique gradually as she became more and more comfortable with the inflections and melodies within various jazz styles. Wardell released her debut album, Noted, in 2006--the same year she won the BBC Best of Jazz Award.
