The Hill and Wood

The Hill and Wood is an indie rock outfit from Charlottesville, Virginia that evolved its sound from folk/pop roots to symphonic-inspired rock and chamber pop. Fronted by singer/songwriter Sam Bush, the band creates music with lyrics that revolve around themes of the modern world, specifically human identity and the anxieties drawn from expectation. The Hill and Wood released its self-titled debut album in 2011, proving that it hasn't lost its honesty qualities while refining its orchestral indie rock sound.
