Screw is a visual kei rock band that emerged out of Japan in 2006 with a sound that bridges metalcore, hard rock and alternative rock with a distinctive androgynous style. Founded by lead vocalist Byou and lead guitarist Yuuto, the group quickly released a mini album, titled Nanairo no Reienka, before dropping its debut LP, Fusion of the Core. Screw began to stand out among the bustling visual kei community in Japan with its sophomore album, 2009's X-Rays, the first in a string of commercially successful records.
