Puhdys is a progressive rock band that has risen as one of the most renowned German-language rock groups in the world. Formed in 1969 while many bands from East Germany were prohibited from venturing over the wall and outside the country, the group toured West Germany and the greater European continent on a regular basis and developed an international following with its hard rock and pop-infused sound. Puhdys released its first album, Die Puhdys, in 1974 and went on to drop nearly an record a year for the next several decades, earning a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the world. Never losing steam, Puhdys entered the 2010's with a series of records, 2011's Live Aus Der 02-World, 2012's Es War Schon and 2013's Neilige Nachte, and toured in support of each release.
