Zulu Pearls is a rock band based in Berlin that combines the DIY ethic of indie music with pop, guitar rock and an ear for 1970s rock music. Led by primary songwriter Zach Van Hoozer, the band relocate from Washington, D.C. to Berline in 2009 and has since founded an indie rock niche within a culture dominated by electronic music. Zulu Pearls released its single "Feel Me," in 2011 with a dance pop/indie rock sound followed by its 2012 single, "Magic Tricks," a garage rock tune that recalls rock from the 1960s and 1970s as well as pop from the 1980s. With echoed electronics and nostalgic vocals, the single preceded Zulu Pearls' 2012 debut album.
