Following the disbandment of his rock group Zebulon in 1997, singer/songwriter and musician Marc Déry focused on his solo career and began writing and producing his own material. Hailing from Quebec he released his eponymous debut album in 1999, offering a freak folk/electropop sound to the local music scene and earning the Félix Award for arranger of the year. Déry released his sophomore effort in 2002 titled À L'Avenir, an electronic folk effort with shades indie rock, jazz. reggae and blues. After reuniting with Zebulon for a short stint, he released his fourth studio album, fittingly titled Numéro 4, in 2011.
