"I can't pay my rent but I'm gorgeous," declares Semi Precious Weapons' glammed-out lead singer Justin Tranter on the band's self-titled eponymous hit song. While it initially seems like nothing more than a cute dust-off, the band wears it like a mantra. Semi Precious Weapons is comprised of four classically trained Berklee College of Music graduates who decided to ditch everything they learned in school to make down and dirty, stockings-instead-of-pants, eyeliner-streaming-down-your-face glam rock that's as tight as it is trashy--which is impressive because it's really, really trashy.
