Brookyln, NY-based artist Erin Barra combines elements of pop, rock and electronica to create a modern brand of neo soul. Having begun piano lessons at the age of four, Barra was writing her own music throughout her adolescence, including her own full-length opera. While studying at Berklee College of Music at Boston, she captured the attention of legendary artist John Oates, who went on to co-write a song with Barra for her debut album, Illusions. Released in 2011, the record has been hailed by critics and industry veterans, who have compared Barra to the likes of Stevie Nicks and Alicia Keys.
