Emmy Rossum is a singer/songwriter and Golden Globe-nominated actress from New York City. Though she has been acting since the late 1990s, she first earned widespread attention after playing the role Christine Daae in the 2004 film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. After her critically acclaimed performance in Phantom, Rossum was offered several deals to record classical music but she declined to accept any of them and opted to begin creating contemporary pop music. She released her debut album Inside Out, in 2007 and went on to record tracks for other records including three songs for a Christmas EP in 2007 and a song titled "Cruel One" for singer/songwriter Alex Band's solo album, We've all Been There. Rossum released her sophomore album Sentimental Journey, a collection of classical song covers ranging from the 1920s to the 1960s, with Warner Bros. Records in 2013.
