The Middle East

The Middle East was an interesting band that emerged from, not the Middle East like one would expect, but Townsville, Australia in 2005. The group achieved somewhat of a following due to several prominent music websites and blogs' interest in the group, and though the band describes its sound as indie rock, elements of folk and country can be found in the music as well.
