Lorie is a French pop singer, whose impressive European album sales have given her the nickname "the French Brittney Spears." Releasing her debut album Pres de Toi in 2001, during the height of the early aughties pop craze, the LP would go on to sell millions of copies, even becoming certified triple platinum. Though she has never achieved crossover appeal and won over a solid fan base in the United States, her popularity in France is concrete and her influence on early 20th Century French pop is undeniable.
