Raised in an extremely musical household in the small town of Karkom, Israel by a father who built musical instruments, Maya Isacowitz grew a fondness for song composition at a young age after she learned how to play guitar and sing at the tender age of 14. After relocating to New York City, Isacowitz dove head first into the city's multifaceted music scene and began soaking up influences from a number of different styles and musical centers. Isacowitz released her debut LP, Safe & Sound, in 2011 and the album's blend of various folk, blues and rock styles helped distinguish her as one of the more talented Israeli female songwriters of her generation.
