Darlene Love is a singer/songwriter from California whose soulful, classic pop sound was harnessed among other prolific artists by legendary producer Phil Spector during the 1960s. While she has worked with several musical icons such as Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley and Dionne Warwich, she is best-known for her Spector-penned holiday classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home," which was originally featured on the 1963 compilation, A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector. Love has moved forward gracefully into the modern music scene as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and an annual staple of the Late Show with David Letterman, on which she has appeared as the guest performer of the episode before Christmas every year since 1986, when the show was still known as Late Night with David Letterman.
