Timo Andres is a Brooklyn-based contemporary classical musician who rose to recognition at the age of 24 when his piece "Nightjar," was performed by John Adams and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. A native of rural Connecticut, he allows the environment of his childhood to color his brazen, sprawling compositions. After studying at Juilliard's pre-college program and graduating from Yale, the relocated to New York City, where he has since distinguished himself with his modern, rock and roll-educated style.
