The Haywains is a British indie pop duo that rose out of the UK's underground indie community in the late 1980s. With strong guitar sounds driven by male-female vocal interplay, the band dropped its first offering, The Surfin' Trowbridge EP, in 1988, kicking off a string of well-received EPs and collecting a dedicated following in the process. The Haywains released its debut full-length album, Never Mind Manchester, Here's the Haywains, in 1991, reaching an international audience for the first time.
