Eiji Oue is a contemporary classical conductor from Japan who studied at rigorous music conservatories like the Toho Gakuen School of Music before becoming the pupil of prolific American composer Leonard Bernstein. After distinguishing himself with critical prizes like the 1980 Tanglewood Koussevitzky Prize, he went on to serve as Music Director of ensembles like the Erie Philharmonic, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra.
