The Detroit Pistons are a professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association. The franchise was founded in 1941 as the Fort Wayne Pistons of the National Basketball League. In 1957 the team moved to Detroit. Known as the "Bad Boys" during the 1980s, the Pistons won back-to-back NBA championships in 1988-89 and 1989-90 and again in 2004.
