Australian singer-songwriter Stu Larsen is known for his vivid lyricism and jolly melodies. A native of Queensland, he surfaced in 2009 with the album The Black Tree. Wanting to experience different cultures, he joined his friend, musician Passenger, on a journey that would result in 2014's Vagabaond - an ode to his love for travel. Produced by Passenger, the album included the hit song "Thirteen Sad Farewells." Post the album's release, Larsen embarked on a tour of North America, Asia, Australia, Europe and New Zealand to support it. During this time, he continued working on new material inspired by his travels and soon had enough to create his sophomore album. He joined Passenger at his studio to work on some demos along with Luke Thompson. 2016 saw the release of one of these demos - "By the River." Resolute, issued the following year, was a ten-track record which included the numbers "Chicago Song," "Far from Me" and "I Will Be Happy and Hopefully You Will Be Too." He released his next album Marigold in 2020, which was shaped by Larsen's personal troubles and travels. The album's tracklist featured songs like "We Got Struck by Lightning," "Whiskey & Blankets," "Wide Awake & Dreaming," "Je Te Promets Demain," "Movement & Time," "Phone Call From My Lover," and more.
