On Fillmore was formed in 2000 by bassist Darin Gray and percussionist Glenn Kotche; the drummer for Wilco and bass player for Jim O'Rourke, respectively. The group released its self-titled completely improvised jazz debut in 2002 and when playing live, On Fillmore often tends to incorporate improvisational elements into its music which almost guarantees that no two shows will ever be the same.
