Pete International Airport is the solo project of Portland-based Dandy Warhols guitarist Peter Holmstrom. The material Holmstrom writes for Pete International Airport is very similar to the Warhols' mixture of druggy psychedelia, indie-rock and 1980s shoegaze. Electronics, however, also play a substantial role in these songs. Drum machines and synthesizers can be found underneath some of the distorted haze, leading to a strong feel for groove that permeates much of the 2010 self-titled LP. During live performances, Pete International Airport expands to a full band format, with Holmstrom utilizing various musicians from Portland's rich music scene.
