The male/female duo that makes up Tel Aviv-based band Carusella plays only drums and guitar, and therefore creates an exceptionally tight sound consisting of distortion and percussion. After playing in various bands together, the two realized they worked better together as a duo and began playing a mixture of metal-tinged hard rock and more straightforward indie rock together. The singer's feminine presence adds an interesting element to the band's sound, as she doesn't always opt for aggression in her vocal delivery, but instead fluctuates between anger and sensitivity. Carusella prides itself on performing live in the middle of the audience, without any stage to distance itself from the crowd, making for a unique live experience.
