The two members of indie pop duo Dash & Will met in Melbourne, where they attended the same grade school. By 2004--at the age of only 14--Dash (Charlotte Thorpe) and Will (Josie De Sousa-Reay) received a recording grant from a local label thanks to a handful of songs the two had written together. The duo began to devote its time to working on its brand of characteristic pop-rock over the next five years, culminating with the release of their debut album, Up In Something, in 2009. Dash & Will's music can often be straight-forward and syrupy in a bubblegum pop kind of way. But their voices blend well together and the music is not entirely without a lack of adventure, sometimes delving into jittery indie rock or funky dance pop.
