From Captain Beefheart to Queens of the Stone Age, the Southern California desert has always played host to visionary musical oddballs. With their striking blend of electropop and psychedelic rock, Gram Rabbit happily fit right into that outsider tradition. Simultaneously named after lead singer Jessica von Rabbit and fellow desert lover Gram Parsons (who died in Gram Rabbit's hometown of Joshua Tree), the band's music has proved pleasantly cinematic and has been featured in numbers film and TV projects.
