Ghislain Poirier is a DJ and producer who has worked in many different electronic genres, most recently exploring his love of tropical music. The Montreal-based artist is a member of the influential underground electronic and hip-hop label, Ninja Tune, which he joined in 2007 with the release of No Ground Under. Poirier has explored everything from instrumental hip-hop, to club music and experimental electronica in an ever-evolving career that began in 2001. In recent years, however, he has started to make a name for himself as a DJ heavily-influenced by the sounds of the Caribbean. Specifically, Poirier likes to work facets of reggae, such as dancehall and ragga, into the steady pulse of his dance-oriented tracks.
