Groups that have persistent male vs female duets in songs are a rare find in today's music scene. Back in the 1970s, nearly every musician was collaborating with a member of the opposite sex for a song (case in point: Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand); but in the 21st Century, there is a lack of songwriters who are willing to pen a tune that will examine the interplay between a man and a woman. Luckily, New York-based Savoir Adore packs its tunes with a healthy amount of guy/girl duets to satisfy music listeners who crave the two-toned, gender-play singing style. Formed in 2006, Savoir Adore writes memorable electropop songs--complete with punchy bass lines, squeaky synth lines and electro beats. But the sounds serve as fodder for Deidre (who knew parents still named their children Deidre?) Muro and Paul Hammer to sing over. The end result proves to be memorable, disco-inspired music that manages to be more listenable upon each consecutive listen.
